Birchbox Review

-First Impressions of March Birchbox-

I’ve been subscribed to Birchbox for almost a year now and it has had good and bad months, but as I mentioned in my AfterSpa review I love receiving my Birchbox every month, I try to avoid seeing the spoilers so it’s more of a surprise when I get it. First off, I love the design on this month’s box.
I knew two of the products I’d receive before I got my box as I follow Birchbox on my personal instagram account, and I was already looking forward to getting my hands on them, even though I already owned one.

I was surprised to find out a few days ago that Benefit Cosmetics’ new BADGal Bang mascara was being included in March’s edition of Birchbox, I was excited and yet slightly disappointed at the same time because I had already gone out and bought and reviewed it when it was launched! But I guess you can never have too much mascara, it just means I now have a back up! Once I opened the box I was expecting the bottle to be in the same shape as the full size one, because I know Benefit do a smaller bottle but I guess this is an especially small one for Birchbox.
The other product I already knew about was the Blaq peel off mask because I had to choose between that and the Blaq eye masks. I’ve been wanting to try a peel off mask for a while now so I was really looking forward to trying it as I do sometimes get blackheads on my nose. I followed the instructions on the bottle, leaving it on for 20 minutes until it was completely dry but when I came to peel it off it did leave one side of my nose quite flakey and didn’t remove all of my blackheads, so maybe I didn’t apply it thick enough. I’ll give it another try soon and hope that it works better next time.
The Glamglow face mask was another product I was eager to try when I opened the box because I absolutely love face masks! I hadn’t heard of the brand before but I’m always optimistic when it comes to trying new products because I’ve found so many good brands through Birchbox, one of my favourite being Percy & Reed hair products, they make my hair feel as soft as it does after being to the salon. I applied the mask straight away and again left it on for 20 minutes, it hardened like a mud mask does so when I came to wash it off I used one of my Liz Earle sponges rather than a cloth. Once removed it left my skin feeling so smooth and refreshed, so I’ll definitely be using this again when my skin needs a little boost.

The third and final product from this months box that I tried out yesterday is the Beauty Protector: protect and volume spray, I always like to apply some kind of protect treatment to my hair before blow drying just to keep it as healthy as possible, there’s not much I can really say about the spray after just one use but I’m sure it provided my hair with some kind of heat protection and it did leave my hair smelling nice all day which is definitely a plus, this brand is another one I discovered through Birchbox and would certainly recommend to anyone with long or damaged hair such as my own.

The last item in this box is the Nuxe Reve De Meil body scrub which I haven’t yet had the chance to try out but Birchbox quite often include this brand and from the quality of their products that I’ve previously tried, I get the impression that it’s quite an up-market brand, so I’ll definitely be using this.

Overall, this was a particularly good box this month, I was especially happy to receive the BADgal bang mascara even though I already own it. I always look forward to getting my Birchbox at the beginning of each month and it’s certainly worth the money

4 Steps to Clear Skin

-My 4 Step Nightly Skincare Routine- Hello! So today I’m going to share my 4-step nightly skincare routine that I’m sure gives me clear and almost poreless skin! I been using few Liz Earle products every night for over a year now and I swear by it. People often say to me how clear my skin looks and I suppose that’s partly just down to luck, I never really get any spots and I was fortunate enough to not suffer with acne in school, but it’s also down to the products I use and how I look after my skin. I tend to apply quite a bit of makeup during the day which means I need a good makeup remover to get it all off, so I use the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser, which brings me to my first step. -Step One- I generously apply the Liz Earle cleanser to my dry face on top of all my makeup while I fill up the sink with “hand hot” water. Then using one of the Liz Earle muslin cloths, I wash the cleanser off which brings all my makeup off too, rinsing the muslin cloth under the tap after ev

My Top 5 Makeup Tips

-My Life Saving Makeup Tips- As a makeup lover, I’m always trying new products and techniques but there are still little things that bother me, like the way concealer builds up into little lines beneath my eye, or when I accidentally touch my face with the mascara wand after doing a full face of makeup, so I’ve come up with 5 top tips to help up makeup amateurs (or pros)! -Tip One- Removing makeup mistakes Mascara is always the last thing I apply when doing my makeup in the morning, which makes my face more at risk of being ruined by the classic ‘poking myself in the eye and transferring the mascara to my bottom eyelid’, or just being clumsy and touching my face with a wand-full of mascara. I’ve mentioned Garnier’s Micellar water in a previous post and that I don’t really like to use it much, but it is good for getting rid of little mistakes like this one. I put a tiny bit of the micellar water on to a cotton bud and dab the area I want removed until it’s nearly gone (t
